14

14

Running out of things to say.
Wrote 13 poems today.
I know that's quite a few,
most of them stink of poo.
Not very good or very grand,
just another grain of sand.

I'll never know why I write,
just seems to be part of life.
Meanwhile, I'll take a bow,
'cause number 14's done for now.

Unnatural

Unnatural

I eat my low-sugar
vanilla yogurt
with ingredients only
a chemist would
recognize.

Yeah, it's a little weird,
but I've gotten used
to the flavors of RBST
and growth hormones
in my dairy products.

Call me complacent.
You know I don't care.
When chemical warfare
starts, I'll be immune.

While you lay gasping
for breath, the formaldehyde
from all those cigarettes
will preserve me.

November

November

Drenched in cruel
drops of water.

Rain.

I just wanted to talk
to him.

And calling seemed
so cold, like the weather.

When he was right there,
in the parking lot.

He said I looked like
Marie's cat, sitting outside
in a downpour, afraid to come
inside.

Tired of this month
already.

Why must everything
be so hard?

Day 12:  truth

Chilly

Chilly

Inside,
with a blanket
on my legs,
and a heater
at my feet.

Do I bring
any warmth
or just steal
the warmth
of the room?

Oven only
good for one thing,
warming up
the house.

BK

BK

Soft and furry,
BK is a cat.

Or a large kitten,
I can't decide.

He's only 11 months
so, I guess
a large kitten.

He purrs easily
and tears up paper,
including my recipes
cut out of magazines.

He meows for wet food,
cleans himself, and uses
the litter box.

Typical kitten or cat
behavior.

The same.

"Little One"

"Little One"

I call the kitty,
"little one."

And now my boyfriend,
tall and definitely not little,
asks to be called "little one."

They both purr.
