Letter #56

Hi Dad,

As you doubt know, we have 2 kittens now.  They are a lot of fun, but they wear me out.  Here's a picture of Josie and Leo fighting:

You can't really tell what's going on in that picture.  Josie likes to bit Leo's ears.  He likes to nip at her sides.  Then they'll take a nap together like nothing happened.  People should be more like that, but they're not.

Remember you used to say "Kindness is the only thing that matters."?  It's getting tough to be kind all the time, or nice all the time.  I don't think that's what you meant.  You didn't say, "be nice to everyone."  I got that message from someone though.  Probably in school or at church.  I have to set boundaries, I know, or people will take advantage of me.  Too late.  I spent the day driving a friend around and waiting in her doctor's office waiting room.  Big sigh.  Enough about that.

I finished the Celtic Cross-stitch I was working on.  Yay!  I never thought I'd get that one done.  I'll have to find a frame for it and put it up in my bedroom.

Things are pretty quiet on the home front.  I'm a little stressed.  I'm almost out of insulin.  I feel really crappy when I don't take it (forget to take it).  I hope a family member will pick it up for me tomorrow, or I'll go in.  I'll get it one way or another.  I'm stubborn that way.  Pharmacy is "in town."  I'm out here with the deer and the ocean.  Small town life has its advantages as well as disadvantages.

I hope you are OK, wherever you are.  I don't think heaven is some Studio 54 type club where only a few devout Christians/Fundamentalists get in.  Because then you wouldn't be there.  And I know you're somewhere nice.  :)

All for now.

LOVE

Anne
