DIY Planner: 4th Week of December 2014
There is no theme for this week, although I did use a lot of green and contrasting colors.
Thursday's is red Christmas lettering (which doesn't show in this picture) on a green background. It looks like a Christmas cloud that's raining glitter, which is somehow apt for the holiday.
Monday's hot air balloon interior, Tuesday's mosque and Friday's tree frog are all drawn from a National Geographic book called "Color," a book of photographs. The other days are pretty random.
While before I was doing these in the morning, because it's a working planner, I started doing them at night after I checked off a few tasks. It's fun just doing one square a day. I will be using the National Geographic book in the future for things to draw.
Thanks for looking!

DIY Planner: 3rd Week of December 2014
This time I added some glitter with matte medium. I'd like some gloss medium. I'm not using Mod-podge because the pages will stick together (or so I've heard).
There is a theme to this particular week, Winter Solstice and Yule. I did all these on the day it says.
My favorite was the Yule Log, it felt like my to-do list was on fire!

Weekly Poem: "Dig In"
Dig In
The house that
stress built.
Houseboat for sale,
so says the sign.
Owners must have just left.
Left their jewelry and fabric behind
on bolts, in boxes.
The freezers are full.
It’s not mine.
“It’s yours,”
says the Captain.
Exploring further,
a laundry room,
shelves packed
with old foodstuffs
and dry goods.
“It will take me forever
to clean this out!”
“You have time,”
he tips his hat to me.
The job seems enormous,
I dig in.

Weekly Poem: "Bedtime Story"
Bedtime Story
Half man, half beast
He sits at the foot of my bed
And watches me sleep
Half beast, half woman
I look deep within his blue eyes
Lust awakens, once asleep

DIY Planner: 2nd Week December 2014
Here is the second week of decorating my planner. For this week I had a Christmas theme. No, there won't always be a theme. :) I discovered that my drawings from pictures on the computer turned out better than stylized symbols. I also remembered I had stencils, so used them for a couple days.
I established some ground rules (made to be broken!), do your art for the current day, you can go back and embellish the same day, and keep within the allotted square. Whew! Maybe next year I'll get a bigger XL pad, a smaller one would work too, with the same restrictions.
Here is my favorite day this week:
You can't see it very well, but I used gold and silver ink as washes on some of the days, also metallic sharpies. I don't know what I'll do with this next week. Cool beans!

DIY Planner: 1st Week December 2014
So, I'm using my planner and I'm also doing arty stuff in it. I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just having fun! This is the spread for the first week:
My favorite turned out to be Sunday, with lots of leaves:
Here are the art supplies I'm using. Opaque watercolors and waterbrush (new!):
Markers and gel pens:
And these are the inks, some metallic, that I'm using this week:

Bono Redux
This program allows you to "photoshop" pictures without downloading: sumopaint
I applied this program to a couple of photos of Bono. Here are the originals and the "sumo"-ed photos.

Weekly Poem: "Naughty List"
Naughty List
I haven’t been particularly good,
neither has anyone else.
Still, my closet is loaded
with gifts and goodies, unwrapped.
Like some deranged Santa,
I bestow gifts on the most
undeserving of children.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Fucking Christmas!
