Day 3

Lots more bling than usual.  Blingy hummingbird!  (more sequins to come)

1 Year of Stitches: 2017 Facebook Challenge

Please join me on Facebook for this embroidery challenge.  It starts (officially) on January 1st, 2017.  The group name is "1 Year of Stitches:  2017"  You just stitch one embroidery stitch (or more) every day of the year.  No real rules to speak of!  Oh, and take pictures and post them.

Here are some of my supplies for the challenge.  I'm making "Little Embroideries," patterns from the Sublime Stitching craft pad.  No hoop is bigger than 6 inches across.  I'm using leftovers from other projects and picking one floss color to use randomly.  When I use that color up I'll pick another, no looking! I'm going to embellish with beads and sequins too.

Here is Day 2, a yellow humminbird:

"Grab That"

Grab That

If Trump wins
nothing will be the same.

I'll lose my healthcare
and have to beg on corners
for insulin
and anti-depressants.

We'll go to war
with everyone.

And no one will be safe.

Especially kitties
and other pussies.

Day 8:  nothing will be the same/nothing will ever change
November 8, 2016

"Faith"

Faith

Faith
is seeing what others
can't.

Faith
is believing in what can't
be seen.

Faith
is getting direction from
God.

Faith
is love in action.

"Tears"

Tears

Call me soon,
but he doesn't.

So I call
and it's a disaster.

Anger begets anger.

And I'm sorry, so sorry.

For hoping that time will heal.
It hasn't been long enough.

What a difference a night makes?

And tears, many tears.

We are speaking, not sniping
at each other.

The rift, the tear
isn't yet healed.

But we are on the mend.

Day 9:  call me (blank)

"Ignorance is Bliss"

Ignorance is Bliss

Like the cat
tearing up the Dish guide,
paper bits everywhere,
it all falls apart.

After the election,
depression falls on the Liberals,
the Dems.  Where's your sense
of humor?  But we can't find
it anywhere.

I'm supposed to be a lamp
in the darkness, dim at best.
He found my watch, now
I can tell time.
I liked it better when I was
clueless.

"Making Coffee"

Making Coffee

I get up first,
usually.

On Mondays,
garbage and recycling
out.

All week long,
measured spoons
of ground coffee,
twelve cups of water,
a filter,
Mr. Coffee.

Hot java,
every morning,
two cups,
it's a tradition.
