Weekly Poem: "When the Elastic Broke"

When the Elastic Broke

on my Fae wings.
Once removed,
no longer a Hippie Fairy Princess,
mere mortal,
like on the other 364 days.

In a small town bar,
bored out of my skull,
in spite of the eye candy
in the form of a local band,
Bremen.

The King and Queen of Hearts
play pool on the right.
A sexy skunk and a dancing fool
strut their stuff on the left.

After fries and five 7Ups,
I tell my friends, a devil and a leprechaun,
I just want to go home.
I just want to go home.
