Weekly Poem: "Uluru (Ayers Rock)"

Uluru (Ayers Rock)

I want to dance your mountain

I don’t dance anymore
I would sing your mountain
low-slung red rock formation

I don’t sing anymore
I would draw the mountain
like sunrise bleeding
over the Northern Territories

but I don’t draw anymore
I would write a poem about it
scrubby trees frame mountain
in photo in travel brochure
but I don’t write anymore

I want to dance your mountain
