"The Food Holiday"



The Food Holiday


I'm not going 100 miles
for Thanksgiving.

That's one tradition
I don't want started.

Instead, the usual.
Arguments in the kitchen
over turkey gravy
and real mashed potatoes.

Perhaps, he'll make the turkey
the day before.  Let's keep conflicts
to a minimum, please.

We'll meet up later,
bloated with turkey, dressing,
cranberries and rolls.

"Olive you," I'll say
and mean it.
